GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION A Process Technician 2 performs a variety of functions associated with manufacturing operations, including working with engineers and operators in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final product. Uses programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to parts, instruments or equipment. Updates and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of technician experience required in a manufacturing/production environment. Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions in English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure including common and decimal fractions. Ability to use a microscope, depending on the specific function. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception. 20/20 corrected vision may be required - varies by division Willingness to wear PPE (examples: goggle, gloves, apron, finger cot, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel. Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands. Eligible to work in an ITAR environment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitors and documents the operation of machines in a production environment. Maintains flow of production parts; reports inconsistencies, and suggests improvements in the production process. Troubleshoots complex or troublesome equipment, may work with facilities team or outside vendor or repair or modification. May run engineering tests prescribed by engineer. Perform periodic calibration checks. May recommend process improvements based on test and process results and experience. Troubleshoot machine set up. Visually inspects parts at required steps in the process with attention to detail, ensuring the parts are within specified tolerances. May disposition of reject parts and train operators and inspectors to improve efficiency. Maintains and orders/tracks tools according to safety and vendor recommendations
