Salary: $190,000-230,000

Overview

As Director of Protein Purification & Analytical Development, you will spearhead innovation in biologics by leading high-performing teams in protein purification and analytical sciences. You will set vision and strategy, empower scientific excellence, and drive transformative results that shape the future of therapeutic discovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategy & Teams: Establish Purification & Analytical Development objectives, align operations with company vision, and mentor multidisciplinary teams through complexity and innovation.

  • Protein Purification & Analytics: Oversee development of robust purification processes for diverse protein modalities. Guide analytical method development and troubleshooting using advanced technologies (e.g., ELISA, BLI, HPLC, MS). Foster adoption of new platforms and train scientists on critical instrumentation.

  • Integrative Drug Discovery: Integrate purification and analytical strategies to accelerate lead selection, antibody characterization, and seamless tech transfer.

  • Developability Assessment: Design and implement workflows—spanning computational, experimental, and biophysical methods—to assess and mitigate risks in protein developability, including stability, immunogenicity, and expression.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Champion rigorous documentation, quality standards, and use of digital lab and data systems (e.g., ELN, LIMS, Benchling, SoftMax Pro, JMP).

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary interface with executive leadership and partners, translating complex data into actionable decisions and uniting teams toward shared goals.

Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant field with 10+ years, or MS with 12+ years, of progressive industry experience in drug discovery or analytical sciences

  • Proven success leading teams through scale and change

  • Expert in purification, analytical development, and developability assessment

  • Strategic thinker with deep industry insight
