Translational Research in Oncology Senior Project Manager in Vancouver, British Columbia
Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) is a global academic clinical research organization dedicated to advancing translational cancer research in the clinical trial setting. Our passionate team is committed to bringing the cancer treatments of the future to the world of today.
TRIO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Information Services team. The ideal candidate will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of strategic initiatives—from opportunity identification and business case development through delivery and benefit realization. This leader will drive outcomes across cross‑functional teams (clinical operations, finance, IT/security, vendor partners) ensuring projects are delivered on‑time, on budget, and at the expected quality, with measurable value post‑implementation.
This role will report to the Vice President, Information Services , this role is home‑based in Canada. This position is currently vacant and open for applications.
Responsibilities
Opportunity and Business Case Development: Lead discovery with business stakeholders to identify opportunities related to process, organizational, and systems improvements. Develop comprehensive business cases outlining financial, operational, and strategic benefits. Create measurement frameworks to track progress through implementation. Support implementation by acting as a subject matter expert for business departments
Portfolio Intake & Governance: Facilitate project intake and prioritization, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, capacity, and constraints. Maintain portfolio‑level visibility of status, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues with clearly defined actions
Project Management & Delivery: Manage scope, cost, and schedule to ensure successful delivery of projects within the assigned portfolio
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather requirements. Conduct benchmarking of applicable options and provide informed recommendations
Risk Management: Partner with subject matter experts to identify, track, and mitigate project and initiative risks
Benefits Realization: Monitor and measure project benefits to ensure delivery of expected value. Lead lessons learned, benefits validation, and formal project closure processes
Continuous Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices to enhance delivery and business outcomes
Performance Reporting: Prepare and present regular performance reports to sen ior management highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations
Note: This role is an individual contributor position and does not include direct people management responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; experience in clinical research or healthcare is a strong asset
Minimum 10 years of project management experience
Minimum 5 years of business analysis experience, preferably within the clinical research industry
Demonstrated success developing business cases that achieve desired business outcomes
PMP or equivalent project management certification required
Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Experience with resource forecasting for a weighted project pipeline
Proficiency with project management software and tools
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Pay Range: $120,000 to $140,000 Salary will be determined based on education, experience, location, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
