Job Title: Material Handler - Shipping and Receiving Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Material Handler for our shipping and receiving department. The role involves onsite duties including receiving deliveries, unpacking skids, organizing, and transporting materials. A key part of the job is the safe handling of 100-400lb glass doors, which are extremely fragile and heavy. This position requires the use of heavy equipment for oversized loads and teamwork to maneuver heavier doors. The role primarily involves heavy lifting and material movement, focusing on shipping and receiving site-required doors and materials.
Responsibilities
Safely move 100-400lb glass doors using appropriate equipment and techniques.
Operate heavy equipment to unload glass doors from skids and position them for installation.
Assist a team of four in maneuvering heavier doors.
Lift materials off trucks, organize, and itemize items.
Engage in material handling activities 90% of the time focusing on shipping and receiving.
Essential Skills
Experience working on a construction site.
Ability to lift 70-100lbs alone consistently and carefully.
Experience lifting 70-400 lbs with assistance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience dispatching/loading/unloading glass or glass doors.
Forklift ticket.
Telehandler ticket.

Work Environment

The project duration may extend even longer, providing a long-term work opportunity.
