Qualus BIM Coordinator in Vancouver, British Columbia
Position Overview
Power Your Future with Qualus in our T&D Canada business as a BIM Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office. Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage BIM models for high-voltage Substation, and Generation facilities across multiple disciplines, including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural, and Electrical, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements, while integrating models created in different software platforms used by each discipline.
Develop, maintain, and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) tailored to project needs.
Perform quality checks and audits on 3D models to ensure adherence to established standards and protocols.
Lead coordination and model review meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve design clashes and streamline workflows.
Provide training and technical support to project teams on BIM standards, tools, and best practices.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance BIM processes and deliver innovative solutions.
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Architectural, Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
4-8 years of BIM coordination experience, preferably on large-scale, multidisciplinary utility or infrastructure projects.
Proven expertise in clash detection, model coordination, and auditing.
Proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Vault, and Inventor.
Strong knowledge of BIM standards, protocols, and workflows from design-to-construction.
Experience supporting QA/QC reviews and model audits.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
