Vantage Career Center Industrial Mechanics Instructor in Van Wert, Ohio
Job Objectives: Plans, implements, and evaluates instruction in the Industrial Mechanics curriculum designed to address a wide range of skill levels. Within this pathway students will learn to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain all types of industrial equipment; fabricate materials for new and replaceable parts; and develop skills in residential wiring, industrial motor controls (PLC), hydraulics/pneumatics, refrigeration, and robotic programming. Industry certifications include: OSHA 10-Hour Safety Card; American Welding Society (AWS) certifications; Class A CDL; and Snap-On 596F Digital Multimeter certification. The Industrial Mechanics program is part of Vantage RAMTEC. Prior successful classroom instructional experience preferred. Helps students make appropriate choices and encourages parental involvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Possess or be eligible for valid state Department of Education license/certificate appropriate for position
· Ability to successfully teach courses in the Ohio Department of Education Industrial Mechanics pathway
· Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.)
· A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
· Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
· Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions
· Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques
