Realfin Quail Run General Painter in Van Wert, Ohio
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Painter to join our apartment community maintenance team. This position is responsible for preparing and painting vacant apartment units, completing touch-ups in occupied units, and assisting with other painting and improvement projects throughout the property. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship and maintaining a clean, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Vacant Unit Painting
- Prepare units for painting, including patching holes, sanding, caulking, and priming surfaces
- Apply paint, stain, and finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and cabinets
- Match existing paint colors for seamless touch-ups
- Ensure units are completed on schedule for new resident move-ins
- Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met
Occupied Unit & Common Area Projects
- Perform touch-ups and minor repairs in occupied units as needed
- Paint hallways, stairwells, offices, and other common areas
- Assist with special renovation or improvement projects
- Protect floors, fixtures, and furnishings during painting projects
General Duties
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies
- Follow proper safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Communicate with maintenance staff and property management regarding project timelines and needs
Qualifications
- Previous residential or commercial painting experience preferred
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and painting materials
- Ability to operate painting tools and equipment safely
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, climbing ladders, bending)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work
- Exposure to paint fumes and cleaning chemicals
- Use of ladders and painting equipment
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
