Job Title: Commercial Glazier

Job Description

This role focuses on installing glass and related systems in commercial buildings and other glass structures. The position involves working with storefronts, frameless glass doors, shower doors, glass railings, and tenant improvement projects while ensuring precise measurements, safe handling, and high-quality finishes.

Responsibilities

  • Install glass in commercial buildings, storefronts, and other commercial glass structures.

  • Perform commercial glazing work, including installation of storefront systems and related components.

  • Install tenant improvement elements such as hat channels, bottom U-channels, headers, and closers.

  • Install Herculite (frameless glass commercial) doors and ensure proper operation and alignment.

  • Work with panic device exit systems, including installation and adjustment.

  • Apply silicone with precision using tape to achieve clean, professional joints and seals.

  • Handle, transport, and install glass safely, including loading and tying glass on glass trucks.

  • Install mirrors, shower doors, and glass railings according to specifications.

  • Use hand and power tools effectively and safely for cutting, drilling, fastening, and finishing.

  • Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of glass and related materials as needed.

  • Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other trades on-site.

  • Work as a self-starter, taking accountability for quality, safety, and punctuality on every job.

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area on job sites and in the shop.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial glazing, including storefront installation.

  • Hands-on experience with commercial construction and commercial building environments.

  • Proficiency in glazing and glass installation techniques.

  • Experience with tenant improvement projects, including installing hat channel, bottom U-channel, header, and closer.

  • Ability to apply silicone with precision using tape for clean, accurate finishes.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.

  • Strong skills in measuring openings accurately for glass fabrication and installation.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle and install glass safely and efficiently.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used in glazing and construction.

  • Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.

  • Strong communication skills for working effectively within a team.

  • Self-starter mindset with a strong sense of accountability and reliability.

  • Consistent punctuality and dependable attendance.

  • Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Tenant improvement experience, including specialty glass and framing details.

  • Experience installing mirrors, shower doors, and glass railings.

  • Experience with glass truck loading and tying for safe transport.

  • Certifications such as OSHA safety training are beneficial.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Van Nuys, CA 91411.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
