Agricultural Education / Industrial Technology Teacher (Shared Position, Grades 7-12)

Full-Time (Shared Assignment)

2026-27 School Year

Benton Community is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to serve in a shared teaching role across Agricultural Education and Industrial Technologyfor students in grades 7-12. This unique position is designed to provide flexibility in programming while expanding opportunities for students to engage in hands-on, career-connected learning.

The district is open to candidates who are:

  • Fully endorsed in Agricultural Education or Industrial Technology, with a willingness to teach across content areas, or

  • Interested in obtaining dual endorsementwith district support.

    Interested individuals would (be):

  • Interested in delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction in Agricultural Education and/or Industrial Technology courses.

  • Teach a range of middle and high school courses, which may include:

  • Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources

  • Welding, Construction, or Manufacturing

  • Small Engines, Ag Construction, or STEM-related courses

  • Integrate hands-on, project-based learning experiences that align with career and technical education (CTE) pathways and Work-based learning experiences.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.

  • Maintain safe and effective lab/shop environments.

  • Encourage student participation in career exploration, competitions, and work-based learning experiences.

  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, counselors, and administration to support student success.

  • Partner with local businesses, community organizations, and industry professionals to enhance programming.

    Required:

  • Valid Iowa Board of Educational Examiners teaching license.

  • Endorsement in Agricultural Education (5-12) or Industrial Technology (5-12 or 7-12).

    Preferred:

  • Willingness to obtain dual endorsement in Agricultural Education and Industrial Technology.

  • Experience with project-based or experiential learning.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
