DuPont has an immediate opening for an experience Laboratory Technician at our Valley View, OH site!
The Laboratory Technician provides technical support to Operations with respect to testing the quality of products, raw materials, and components provided by and to DuPont. Provide timely technical documentation and guidance to manufacturing personnel regarding the quality of articles tested. Maintain Laboratory instrumentation in such a condition as to ensure its continued reliability and suitability to perform such operations. Responsible for maintaining personal knowledge of quality requirements and customer specifications and ensuring test methods are in compliance.
This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail. Must be able to multi-task and manage time and projects effectively to support timely release of data in accordance with contractual obligations. Analytical skills must be well developed with an ability to objectively evaluate data and interpret customer, regulatory, and consensus test methods and requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform quality testing on inbound and outbound products and materials in accordance with DuPont test methods and record, report and analyze data where necessary to assure product quality and traceability
Review quality documentation for proper certification and release of incoming material
Develop, review and maintain laboratory test methods and records in such a manner as to conform to contractual obligations and quality requirements. Support and participate in the Internal Audit process, customer audits, and NADCAP Certification Teams.
Actively participate in daily Quality communication events, and be able to communicate workload, compliance to metrics, trend analysis and recommendations for corrective / preventive action and quality improvement.
Work with Technical Teams to develop procedures, resolve problem issues and improve quality.
Prepare customer and internal Test Reports as necessary and be able to understand and discuss results as dictated by business needs
Work with Supplier Quality to facilitate corrective and preventive action relative to supplier quality problems and certification report issues
Be able to recognize non-conforming data occurrences and issue Non-conforming Material Reports wherever appropriate
Participate in Quality Improvement Teams and other periodic quality-focused meetings, assuring timely completion of actions. Support laboratory Statistical Process Control program where appropriate
Coordinate external material testing where applicable
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires an AS in Chemistry or other scientific discipline or a minimum of three (3) years experience within an ISO9001 or AS9100 compliant laboratory environment in support of manufacturing.
ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) status is preferred, ability and willingness to obtain CTQ is a requirement.
Previous experience with Nadcap or ISO17025 is preferred.
Proficiency required in Microsoft Programs.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret technical documents, customer specifications, and test reports.
Bias for action, integrity, strong interpersonal skills, solid time management skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and superior communication skills are required competencies.
