Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our Steel and Irrigation Operations division as welders. In this role, you will be responsible for welding metal components to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. This is a 3rd shift position, operating from Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m

Responsibilities

  • Operate welding equipment to build and weld poles using GMAW (MIG) welding.

  • Weld metal components in flat and horizontal positions.

  • Adjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings.

  • Operate oxy/acetylene burning and plasma cutting equipment.

  • Prepare poles for final weld off and utilize the IFS labor reporting system.

  • Read and decipher blueprints and flat sheets for scheduled work.

  • Maintain weld certificates for AWS, CWB, and other customer-required certifications.

  • Setup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment.

  • Make mathematical calculations to finish welding products to specifications.

  • Operate Base Press, Rounder, Straightener, and forklift if qualified.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of production welding experience or a technical welding degree from a trade school.

  • Experience in Pulse welding, MIG, and Flex core.

  • Ability to pass and maintain certifications in GMAW welding.

  • Proficient in reading blueprints and performing mathematical calculations.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and IFS.

  • High safety awareness and steady work history.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating a forklift is highly preferred.

  • Ability to accurately read and use measurement tools such as tape measures, compasses, and calipers.

  • AWS certification or trade school is a plus.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.

  • Willingness to follow directions and learn new processes.

Work Environment

The work environment is heavy industrial, requiring jeans, steel-toed boots with metatarsal covers, and a shirt. The campus is large, requiring travel between buildings, and is characterized by a noisy and sometimes dirty industrial atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00/hr.
