Mobomo, LLC Sr. Software Engineer - DMV in VA, United States
Mobomo is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Engineer who can operate independently, require minimal oversight, and immediately contribute to backend development and infrastructure efforts. This role is ideal for someone who can execute on unknown requirements while proactively identifying and solving emerging technical challenges. It requires an individual who can operate in a context where nearly all requirements may be undefined, aside from the expected end outcome. With minimal supervision, this person must rely on their abilities to determine, design, and develop the solution they believe is best.
Location: Remote within the DMV area (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia) with in-person meetings throughout the year at our DC office
Clearance: Must be able to obtain a US government clearance

Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-moving team
Able to identify gaps, anticipate needs, and take ownership of solutions
Strong problem solver who can adapt as requirements evolve
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test new backend features
Maintain and improve infrastructure for a cloud-based Kubernetes application
Enhance and manage CI/CD pipelines
Support integration of scientific software and algorithms into production systems
Required Experience
5+ years of backend software development experience
Strong experience with Kubernetes deployment and administration
Linux systems administration experience
Experience working with Docker containers
Preferred Experience
PostgreSQL, SQL, PostGIS
Golang and Python programming
Education
Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field
Additional Requirements
Must be located within the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia)
Must be able to obtain a US government clearance
Available for periodic in-person meetings at a Washington, DC office
