Job Description
Join our dynamic team at Leona Rock Quarry, where your skills and dedication will contribute to the seamless operations of our quarry activities. We are seeking motivated individuals to perform essential tasks in stock handling, material movement, and labor duties, ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of our site.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and transport materials throughout the quarry. Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials as required.
Stock Management: Organize and maintain inventory locations. Assist in the stocking and restocking of materials, ensuring accurate record-keeping and inventory controls.
Labor Support: Support various onsite operations by performing manual labor tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and placing materials. Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment as needed.
Equipment Operation: Operate basic hand tools and power tools for onsite tasks. Maintain equipment in clean, working order and report any malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Actively participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Site Maintenance: Assist in the general upkeep of the quarry site, including cleaning, organizing workspaces, and minor maintenance tasks.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to complete tasks efficiently. Communicate effectively with supervisors to receive instructions and report progress.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a construction/quarry environment is preferred but not required.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Basic understanding of safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
- Reliable transportation to and from the quarry site.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Capability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.
- Comfort working in outdoor environments with exposure to various weather conditions.
