Salary: $17.00 Hourly
Duration: 12 weeks (Late May – Mid August)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (when temperatures are high) 40 hours w/1/2 hr. lunch
Possibility of weekend or evening hours as needed for events
Must be 18 years or older
Munson is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Seasonal Grounds Worker. This temporary role involves assisting with the care and upkeep of the green spaces surrounding the Museum, Campus, and nearby buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily maintenance of lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas by performing tasks such as planting, pruning, fertilizing, transplanting flowers, trees, shrubs, removal of litter, mowing, edging, and weeding.
Assists in construction of structures for the annual summer arts festival and Fountain Elms Car Show, etc.
Assist with other projects in maintenance, custodial or other areas where needed
Help prepare outdoor spaces for special events as needed
Make trash pickups and separate recyclables
Perform other duties as assigned
May be asked to serve on Munson interdivisional committees
Working Environment and Physical Requirements:
The Summer Grounds Worker will regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, sit, climb and may lift and carry heavy (up to 50 lbs.) materials throughout the day. Significant portions of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity. A majority of the work is subject to seasonal and environmental conditions and weather extremes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic personal computer skills that include the ability to send/receive e-mail messages, post information.
Ability to operate all types of handheld gasoline power equipment (i.e. Lawnmower, String Trimmer, Hedge Trimmer etc). Training will be provided on care of grounds equipment.
Previous groundskeeping or landscaping experience is a preferred but not required.
