Munson is seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Director of Development and Donor Relations to join our team and play a key role in cultivating meaningful relationships with our supporters while advancing the mission of our vibrant organization.
The Assistant Director of Development and Donor Relations (AD) supports the Director in cultivating a culture of engagement and philanthropy among all who participate in Munson programs. The AD will build Munson’s membership programs and steward new and ongoing members, providing exemplary customer service and modeling Munson’s vision, values and institutional culture. As a member of a small and dedicated team, the AD will participate in all major fundraising activities and manage membership, database entries, and updates to member and donor records. This is a full-time, 35 hours/week position. Occasional participation in weekend and evening events is expected.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Development Responsibilities:
Proactively identify, qualify, solicit and steward current and potential donors to Munson, tracking activity and adhering to departmental policies of moves management in CRM software.
Document all meaningful interactions with donors and collaborate with the director and other staff members as appropriate to facilitate donor engagement.
Develop and manage a comprehensive membership program that includes direct mail, social media marketing, and point of sale solicitation of prospective members; planning and implementing membership sales and incentive programs and providing a membership presence at major events (performances, openings, arts festival, etc.).
Track all income and expenses for membership.
Directly respond to donor and prospect inquiries by phone, email, and mail.
Generate database queries and reports on donors and membership, helping analyze trends.
Work collaboratively across Munson divisions by sharing membership data as appropriate, helping to steward donors/members with specific program interests, and by cultivating engagement at all Institute events.
Write and update renewal and acknowledgment letters for donors.
Develop and participate in campaigns and sponsorship solicitation to raise revenue for Munson.
Manage the volunteer program (except docents), coordinating with other departments as needed.
Help to organize and attend Munson Development events to assist the Director of Development.
Demonstrated ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ensure timely completion of copy, invitations, print materials, and other deliverables while supporting team members in meeting production timelines.
Maintain confidential donor and membership data, working with discretion and integrity.
Actively participate in staff meetings and intra-divisional committees
Other Responsibilities:
Engage with community organizations to extend Munson’s reach and foster partnerships.
Represent Munson at key community functions and act as an advocate for Munson in the community.
Attend seminars, workshops, and fundraising events to raise awareness of Munson in the community and to increase skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
2-4 years fundraising experience preferred in a cultural, educational or non-profit organization; business background; experience with membership organization.
Bachelor’s degree in related field;
Excellent writing and proofreading skills;
Superior customer service skills;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with CRM database.
