Human Technologies Corporation Area Manager- Rome (Enviromental Services) in Utica, New York

Job Description

The Area Manager supports Human Technologies’ mission of Creating Employment for People with Disabilities by ensuring employee safety and development, staffing, customer satisfaction, overall quality, and operational financial performance of multiple contracts within an assigned geographic area.

Requirements

  1. Responsible for the operating Profit & Loss for each contract. Reports operating results vs. budget to Manager as required.

  2. Ensures schedules and staffing levels are maintained for each site in area, per plan.

  3. Takes corrective action when necessary to re-balance staffing.

  4. Responsible for periodic documented Customer Quality Review walk-throughs with customer, and reports results to Manager. Develops corrective actions from customer complaints and communicates to Manager.

  5. Ensures mandatory training programs are provided and all employees in area receive training. Approves or recommends corrective actions on Incident/Accident reports and follows-up for efficacy.

  6. Informs Manager of opportunities for additional work in sites managed, as well as opportunities for new work in area managed. Collaborates with Manager on customer satisfaction, cost reduction, and cost avoidance opportunities.

  7. Oversees the inventory and ordering process for all sites in managed area to ensure approved products are being used and inventories are controlled.

  8. Responsible for overseeing preventive maintenance and repair/replacement programs for all assets in managed area, including equipment and vehicles.

  9. Approves timesheets for all assigned employees.

  10. Supports and assists with recruitment and retention activities for area of responsibility.

  11. Provides on the job training to employees and monitors performance to ensure direct reports are competent or moving to competency in their assigned positions.

  12. Evaluates and documents employee performance as required by the company, AbilityOne, and/or NYSID.

  13. Recommends promotions, demotions, and terminations based on employee performance.

  14. Actively participates in corporate safety by creating a safe working environment and practicing and training employees in safe and proper work habits and equipment use.

  15. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Manager.

    Qualifications:

  16. AAS in Business Administration or related field.

  17. Three to five (3-5) years of relevant management experience.

  18. A combination of education and work experience that is substantially equivalent to the above.

  19. Proficiency with MS Office products.

  20. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License, reliable transportation and have and maintain a driving record in accordance with Human Technologies’ Liability/Automotive Insurance carrier.

  21. Must pass any required federal, state, municipality, and/or customer-specific background checks.
