Position Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspections under the direction of the Quality Manager and in accordance with company policy. Inspections include incoming raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods to assure quality standards and procedures are being met. The Quality Control Inspector carries out activities for identification, segregation and containment of nonconforming material and products. The Quality Control Inspector will carry out verification of effectiveness of corrective actions and assist in the support of the QMS.

Essential Functions:

  • Visually and dimensionally inspects raw materials, components, sub-assemblies and finished goods for conformance to specification.

  • Reads and understands internal and customer specifications, drawings, and production orders.

  • Conducts audits of processes and products throughout the manufacturing operation and issues a summary report.

  • Uses monitoring and measuring equipment and performs evaluations.

  • Assists in verifying internal and purchased rejects and conducts follow-up to ensure effective resolution.

  • Carries out resolutions of quality issues and assists in process improvements.

  • Understands and conforms to ISO procedures and work instructions.

  • Performs activities related to product hold area (Return Authorization, Internal Rejection, etc.)

    Qualifications:

  • Ability to work overtime hours as required by business needs.

    Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Specialty courses related to quality, as well as familiarity with ISO-9001 and other quality standards, would be beneficial.

  • Two (2) years of experience in industrial quality control preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Have the skill to read and interpret parts drawings, and specifications and accurately use tape measures, rulers, calipers, volumetric measures, micrometers, weight scales, and viscosity analyzer (viscometer). Must have a good understanding of arithmetic, including fractions.

  • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions, work orders, and short correspondence, and communicate with team members to share information, solve problems, and provide training.

  • Excellent oral/written communication and basic math skills, including fractions; strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization; able to manage multiple tasks under pressure; proficient in Microsoft Office.
