Greenway Health Director, Development Engineering in US, United States

Greenway Health is one of the leading Healthcare IT Software and Services providers with headquarters in Tampa, Florida. Greenway is seeking a director who is a self-starter with a passion to solve challenging and complex problems. The candidate will work with the Engineering/Development organization focusing on modernization and the development of shared services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise data strategy aligned to AHP, the Greenway Common Data Model

  • Responsible for the planning and engineering execution of modern data pipeline and availability.

  • Provide transformative leadership, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate closely with the Architecture to understand and execute the technology roadmap

  • Work directly with engineering teams modeling the behaviors that drive effective full-stack engineering

  • Champion best practices in agile methodologies, code quality, security, and system scalability

  • Work closely with Product Management, Project management, and DevOps teams to align technical objectives with business goals

  • Partner with Architecture to define data contracts, schemas, governance standards, and evolution strategy.

  • Provide technical know-how, documentation, assisting with problem-solving and decision-making

  • Deep technical specialist with in-depth knowledge and ability to build services and user interfaces that are fully tested and deployed through automation

  • Ability to motivate through communication as well as providing clear updates to leadership and team members

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management or related field.

  • Master’s preferred.

  • Minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years of professional hands-on enterprise engineering experience.

  • Five (5)+ years in management or executive position

  • Experience with FHIR, HL7, CCDA, and healthcare interoperability standards.

  • Experience building data platforms that power machine learning or generative AI systems.

  • Experience with Lakehouse architecture and AI-ready data platforms.

  • Experience in Agile methodology and in-depth knowledge in building high performing teams

  • Experience in Healthcare and Healthcare IT Industry.

  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and protecting patient information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is preferred.

  • Direct experience working with AWS technologies (namely Lambda, ECS, S3), REST API, Kafka/Streaming

  • Experience with OAuth standard and developing secure applications with authentication and authorization

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams, promote innovative thinking, and create a positive, collaborative environment

  • Expert in .Net, C#

  • Deep expertise in distributed data systems and streaming architecture.

  • Fluent in current architecture trends with an eye on market/technical conditions and future direction.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling (relational, NoSQL, FHIR-based healthcare models).

  • Ability to elicit requirements and communicate clearly with non-technical individuals, development teams, and other ancillary project members.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • While at work, this position is primarily a sedentary job and requires that the associate can work in an environment where they will consistently be seated for the majority of the workday.

  • This role requires that one can sit and regularly type on a keyboard the majority of their workday.

  • This position requires the ability to observe a computer screen for long periods of time to observe their own and others’ work, as well as in-coming and out-going communications via the computer and/ or mobile devices.

  • The role necessitates the ability to listen and speak clearly to customers and other associates.
