This job requires a minimum of 3 months of verifiable agricultural field work experience handling both manual and mechanized tasks associated with production of assorted vegetables on a farm. Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. Saturday work required. Must be able to lift/carry 60 lbs. Workers with clean driving record and/or insurable driver's license may be required to drive company vehicles
Plant, cultivate and harvest assorted vegetables including, but not limited to, summer squash, arugula, basil, sweet potatoes, bok choy, broccoli, swiss chard, tomatoes, beets, turnips, watermelon, winter squash, napa cabbage, cantaloupe, carrots, cilantro, collards, cucumbers, daikon radish, dill, eggplant, fennel, cut flowers, sunflowers, garlic, green beans, salad greens, kale, lettuce, okra, onions, parsley, hot peppers, bell peppers, perennial herbs, spinach, potatoes, radicchio, red radish, raspberries, celery, rutabaga, scallions. Assist with field preparation and harvesting activities. Workers will participate in all farm tasks related to mixed vegetable production including: seeding, planting, watering, weeding, trellising, harvesting, washing vegetables, the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and prune plants, and shrubs, using gardening tools such as a wheelhoe and handhoe. Washing produce, weighing the produce, maintaining inventory, including bunching cilantro, parsley, dill, turnips and radishes. Keep all work areas clean by sweeping floors and sanitizing machinery and surface areas. May use mechanized equipment including but not limited to: rotary mower, front end loader, and other power tools/equipment.
