Hiring! Special Education School Aide
The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide will also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated, patient, and energetic Special Education School Aide to support students with diverse learning needs in both classroom and small-group settings. This role is ideal for someone who believes every student deserves the chance to thrive and is eager to make a direct impact on their daily learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualized and small-group academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with disabilities.
Assist the classroom teacher in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior support plans.
Support students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation.
Adapt instructional materials under teacher guidance to meet student needs.
Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
Assist with personal care tasks as needed (may include toileting, feeding, mobility support depending on student needs).
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure consistent, student-centered care.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or relevant coursework preferred.
Experience working with children, especially those with disabilities, is highly valued.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow teacher and specialist direction.
Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive presence.
Ability to lift, assist, or physically support students when necessary.
Willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of student needs and instructional strategies.
