Job Description Summary
The Steam Power Services (SPS) EMEAA EHS Leader is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining the organization's EHS strategy across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific (EMEAA). This role will also serve as the SPS EMENAT (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey) EHS leader aligning closely with the EMEAA/EMEANT General manager and SPS EHS Leader to ensure consistent EHS performance and compliance across the organization.
The SPS EMEAA EHS Leader will ensure compliance with EHS policies, programs, procedures, and applicable local and international regulatory standards. The role includes conducting audits, onsite inspections, and data analysis to drive process and program improvements. The EHS Leader will engage with customers, government agencies, and cross-functional teams to support customer pre-qualification and project/outage planning requirements across the full EHS Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, taking an active role in Outage Readiness Reviews (ORR) and post-outage learning.
Additionally, this role will play a key part in the Value Stream Transformation agenda, owning specific actions from the Lean Action Plan, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities
Regional EHS Leadership
Lead the SPS EMEAA EHS organization, providing strategic direction and operational oversight
Serve as the EMENAT EHS Leader, ensuring alignment EHS Delivery in the region.
Drive EHS transformation by owning and executing assigned actions from the SPS EHS Lean Action Plan
Ensure outages are staffed with the right level of EHS support across all EMEAA geographies
Ensure Site EHS Specialists, or acting EHS representatives, receive the required onboarding and ongoing support
Ensure site-level EHS support maintains a consistent rhythm with the regional EHS team
Operational EHS Management
Provide daily management and EHS oversight for assigned outages and scopes across the EMEAA region
Collaborate with SPS partners, GE Vernova affiliates, clients, contractor workers, and regulatory agencies on all EHS matters
Support ITO (Inquiry-to-Order) EHS needs, including customer pre-qualification requirements
Provide subject matter expertise across EHS planning, execution, and learning phases
Ensure operationalization of the EHS framework at the regional and site level
Performance, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Establish in-depth analysis of EHS metrics and define actions, initiatives, and risk reduction projects to improve safety performance
Collect, consolidate, and analyze data from multiple sources to determine site entry statuses for field employees
Recommend innovative solutions and process improvements to achieve the overall EHS blueprint
Contribute to the development and rollout of Steam Power Services Safety Global Programs and initiatives
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
Ensure all employees are informed of, understand, and comply with EHS policies, procedures, and applicable local regulations across EMEAA jurisdictions
Prepare for and assist with audits and inspections by government entities at the federal, national, state, or local level
Conduct internal audits and provide corrective actions to reduce operational EHS risk
Ensure GE Vernova systems of record are accurate and timely updated in accordance with compliance assurance expectations
Incident Management & Reporting
Manage incident and injury reporting in accordance with GE Vernova guidelines and applicable local and international regulations
Ensure timely and accurate event reporting, investigations, action closure, and read-across
Communicate timely awareness of injuries, illnesses, and associated mitigating measures across the region
Training & Capability Development
- Ensure EHS training is accurately assigned, up to date, and completed on time as defined by the SPS training matrix, client requirements, and local regulations across EMEAA
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in EHS or a related field from an accredited university or college
Extensive experience leading EHS projects and performance initiatives
Experience in the energy sector is required; field experience in power plants will be a strong advantage.
English proficiency required ; proficiency in additional EMEAA regional languages is a plus
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time across the EMEAA region
Eligible to work across multiple EMEAA jurisdictions as required
Desired Qualifications
Seasoned people leader with extensive experience in projects and field services environments
Demonstrated experience operating across multi-country, multi-regulatory environments within EMEAA
Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, influencing and motivating diverse, cross-cultural teams toward unified goals
Proven ability to interface with all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders including customers and regulatory agencies
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and priorities, making timely decisions based on available information
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear, accurate reports with findings and recommendations
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Professional certification in the EHS field (e.g., CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or regional equivalent)
Working knowledge of Gensuite EHS Management System
Working knowledge of Support Central, Yammer, and web-based communication tools
Knowledge of GE Vernova's EHS programs, policies, and the SPS EHS Lean framework
Familiarity with EHS transformation methodologies and lean continuous improvement principle
