POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is the Lab Support Technician Lead. The primary responsibility is to support the operation and maintenance of instructional laboratories within the Business & Technology Division. The position performs preventative maintenance, equipment setup and repair, inventory coordination, and documentation of work activities to ensure labs are safe, functional, and prepared for instructional use. This role functions as a technical lead by providing advanced equipment support and technical guidance to ensure consistent and reliable lab operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Perform preventative and planned maintenance of instructional lab equipment to ensure readiness, reliability, and safety
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational standards
  • Identify, address, and document health and safety concerns related to equipment and lab environments in accordance with College policies
  • Provide technical guidance related to planned and preventative maintenance activities and support coordination of maintenance efforts involving part-time technicians and student workers
  • Analyze equipment performance issues and assist in developing solutions to improve long-term reliability

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree (or equivalent knowledge and skills) in a related technical field (Manufacturing and Skilled Trades)

Prior experience in machine and equipment repair, including the ability to develop and document preventative maintenance tasks and procedures
