Insight Global Controller in Union, New Jersey
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a hands‑on Controller to lead and execute the day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations for a growing, multi‑location organization in New Jersey. This role is ideal for a Controller who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, owning Accounts Payable end‑to‑end, and serving as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership and an external equity group.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Close
• Own and manage the monthly and year‑end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries
• Perform budget vs. actual analysis, variance explanations, and financial forecasting
• Maintain and enhance internal controls across all accounting functions
Accounts Payable
• Manage Accounts Payable from beginning to end, including invoice processing, approvals, vendor payments, and reconciliations
• Operate as the primary owner of AP with no current downstream support, requiring a willingness to work directly in the details
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing reforecasting efforts
• Prepare financial reports that summarize and forecast business performance, expenses, and profitability
• Provide actionable insights to leadership to support strategic and operational decisions
Systems & Tools
• Serve as the primary financial systems owner, with strong working knowledge of Great Plains
• Ensure data integrity across accounting systems, processes, and reporting
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Act as a key financial liaison to senior leadership and an external equity group, presenting financial results and insights at a high level
• Support audits, internal reviews, and external financial requests
• Supervise and develop accounting staff as assigned
Compensation:
$100,000to $120,000 per year annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements
10+ years of experience working as an Accountant with 2+ years of experience as a Controller
Strong Hands‑on experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP)
Strong working knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, and cash operations
Proven experience managing month‑end close, financial reporting, and budgets
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA
Experience in the pawn industry or a similar regulated, cash‑intensive, or multi‑location retail environment
Prior experience interacting with private equity or ownership groups
