Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with the company’s monthly consolidation and accounting close procedures, all external financial reporting requirements, and preparation and distribution of the daily and monthly financial reports.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to:
Prepares and records journal entries in facilitation of the monthly consolidated closing of the general ledger, which includes preparing closing schedules and recording elimination entries
Ensures the financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with SOX
Performs account reconciliations and analysis of key financial information
Assists in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports
Supports the Corporate Accounting team in meeting departmental deadlines and objectives
Maintains project accounting for all corporate construction projects
Other tasks as assigned by manager based on business requirements
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in the preparation of the quarterly and annual supporting schedules required by our external auditors
Assists with internal audit requests
Assists in the monthly accrual process for all corporate departments
Assists with generating exception reports that are used in financial reviews
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget for all corporate entities
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, or a related field
One year of accounting experience to include journal entry preparation, account analysis and financial reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Excellent attention to detail
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Ability to produce high quality work products
Knowledge of general ledger reconciliation and related documentation
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
A thorough understanding of GAAP
Training Requirements:
Knowledge of the accounting and financial reporting software
Knowledge of department policies and procedures
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
