Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional in overseeing the daily operations of the pro shop including equipment, lessons and rentals for members, guests and invited guests.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
Assists with the operations of the practice and driving ranges
Assists with all tournaments and promotions for members and guests
Assists with training members and guests on swing mechanics, balance and stance and teaches the game of golf
Assists with the management and tracking of all golf play
Ensures complete guest satisfaction for all members, guests and invited guests
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Enforces all club rules and regulations pertaining to the use of the golf course
Assists with the operation and cleanliness of the golf cart fleet
Assists with the GHIN system for handicap maintenance
Assists with tracking and verifying all cart, club care and handicap fees
Attends all Social Governing Board and Marketing related meetings, as needed
Maintains excellent guest relations with all members, guests and invited guests
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
One year of experience working in golf operations
Must have a membership to the PGA Apprenticeship program
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Excellent knowledge of the JONAS Golf Management System
Training Requirements:
Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
Knowledge of training techniques, swing mechanics, balance, stance and the ability to teach the game of golf
Working knowledge of golf cart repair, club fitting and club repair
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
Must be able to stand and walk long distances for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
