Peopleready 0034 Heavy Equipment Operator in UMATILLA, Oregon

PRST is seeking skilled and experienced traveling Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team on the ground floor! This position reports to the Construction Manager and represents an excellent opportunity to join an active, well-funded team, gain valuable experience, and advance your career as GRC grows. This is a Temp-to-perm opportunity offering consistent hours, weekly pay, and per diem. You'll earn $28-$34 DOE.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to operate various types of heavy equipment, such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, compactors, articulated dump trucks, and/or front-end loaders
  • Ensures equipment is in good working order, always
  • Must possess skill, coordination, and awareness to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner with precision and efficiency
  • Willingness to operate heavy equipment for long periods with continuous attention to detail and safety
  • Maintain consistent communication among field crew members by use of hand signals or radio to align and position heavy equipment properly
  • Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the job site
  • Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
  • Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment on the truck
  • Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting construction
  • Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
  • May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies, or be on call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • We tend to stay local to Oregon, but we will move around the state
  • Some out of state work may take place

Qualifications:

18 years or older with valid Right to Work documentation in the U.S.

Minimum 1 year of experience as an excavator operator

On call and weekend availability

Travel is required
