Production Manager

Our Wimborne Curtiss Wright facility is hiring! We are looking for a Production Manager to lead, develop, and manage the people and processes across the assembly, test and scheduling functions to enable delivery of manufactured goods to quality, cost, and schedule.

Location : Wimborne, UK

Your Challenge:

  • Ensures products are manufactured to agreed quality, cost, and schedule requirements

  • Ensuring the existing production facility is maintained to enable current delivery and developed in-line with future requirements and the company strategy, including the review of growth opportunities through expansion or via new facilities.

  • Ensures work is organised effectively and efficiently to maximize the throughput within the function, utilising varying lean techniques across different projects/product ranges.

  • Ensures the function is fully compliant to all health & safety, security, quality, regulatory and environmental standards

  • Develop appropriate systems and procedures to suit the business need, to deliver best practice across the production function in both project and product manufacturing

  • Maintains appropriate SQEP levels including development of individuals through training/coaching via a structured development and succession plan

  • Develops, implements, and manages key performance indicators (KPIs) for assembly, test, and schedule adherence, including tracking trends to analyse, driving improvements.

  • Manages (and escalates if required) operational risks and issues and perform root cause analysis and resolve problems

  • Determines, sets, and delivers goals and objectives for teams in line with both the company’s and department’s strategic aims and objectives

  • Constantly promotes high standards through exemplary behaviours by actively demonstrating the company values to influence the team in behaviours expected of them

  • A leader in continuous improvement activities, including supporting lean/6S initiatives to improve quality, and reduce waste with clear measurable outcomes

  • Provides a weekly report (SOFT or equivalent) to Head of Operations

What You Bring:

  • Security contractual compliance will require incumbents to be a sole British National .

  • Strong previous experience in the Nuclear and/or Aerospace industry leading production (or elements of) management teams

  • Understanding of quality systems such as ISO-9001, OHSAS 18001 and NQA-1

  • Expertise working with ERP, MRP and/or IBP, with MES experience advantageous.

  • 5S/6S and demonstrable lean manufacturing training/experience (e.g. six sigma belts)

  • Strategic thinker with clear analytical skills and the ability to balance long-term and short-term priorities

  • Commercially and financially aware

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to challenge and influence at all levels, including strong negotiation and decision-making skills

  • Positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results
