This position is responsible for ensuring agency compliance with state and federal antiquities laws, including the Texas Parks Wildlife Department (TPWD) Code, the Antiquities Code of Texas, and the National Historic Preservation Act. Reviews projects with ground-disturbing activities on properties owned or managed by TPWD. Responsible for developing scopes of work and management and oversight of contracted work; develops cultural resources management plans for individual state parks. Manages project budgets. Provides technical assistance and staff support to operations and site superintendents. Functions as a member of project teams and performs archeological field work. Coordinates archeological efforts with preservation services, curatorial services, interpretive services, and the natural resources programs. This position has stop-work authority over all regional activities that may affect cultural resources' integrity. All regional activities not otherwise exempt from review and which involve ground disturbance, vegetation clearing- except hand clearing, and any construction disturbing the ground are reviewed and assessed by the Resource Coordinator. Position provides assistance to the Cultural Resources Program Director. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for use of initiative and independent judgement. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Anthropology, Archeology, Applied History, Historic Preservation, or related field. Experience: Five years of progressively responsible archeological experience; Three years of supervisory experience in (1) archeological fieldwork, (2) supervisory experience, (3) project management, (4) cultural resources management (5) writing professional monographs and or reports on archeological or cultural resources issues. Licensure: Applicant must possess, a valid State drivers license. NOTE: Retention of position is contingent upon maintaining license. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of prehistoric and historic archeology, gained through academic training and field experience; Knowledge of prehistoric and historic material culture; Knowledge of artifact identification and analysis techniques; Knowledge of Texas prehistoric and historic archeology; Knowledge of historic architecture; Knowledge of natural resources protection and stewardship practices; Knowl
