ASPIRUS LAKE VIEW HOSPITAL in Duluth, MN is seeking a LV MANAGER-NURSING SERVICES to join our GENERAL NURSING team!

Salary Range: $44.70 - $71.52 Hourly

Schedule/Hours: DAY ONLY, 8 hours

Weekend Requirement: Generally No Weekends

FTE: FULL TIME, 1.0 FTE

The Manager, Nursing Services is responsible to the Director of Nursing for providing leadership and management of nursing practice at Lake View to achieve quality and patient satisfaction outcomes. Supervises and/or coordinates the functions related to business transactions, medical records management, clinical services, compliance, safety and customer service. Works collaboratively system-wide with administrative and medical staff as needed. Provides direction and is a resource to meet the operational needs of assigned areas of responsibility. Proactively coordinates patient care activities and ensures the nursing process is carried out on all shifts by modeling professional growth and clinical leadership. Collaborates with department staff in the development and implementation of unit goals, unit financial performance, patient safety, and performance improvement activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or its equivalent in related field plus one (1) year supervisory/management experience (may include a formal charge role, AHN, HN, Administrative Supervisor, etc.).

  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years previous clinical/work experience in acute care setting

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain ACLS Certification within six (6) months of hire into position. Must obtain PALS and TNCC Certifications within twelve (12) months of hire into position - OR - must obtain CALS in place of both PALS and TNCC within twelve (12) months of hire into position. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network upon hire into position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or its equivalent in a related field, or active enrollment in Master's program with agreed upon completion date is preferred.

  • Experience: One to two (1-2) years’ experience in emergency care.

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A

  • SPEAKING - Advanced: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, top management, public groups, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Advanced: Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.

  • REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
