D&T Valley Veterinary Clinic, Inc Veterinary Receptionist in TWISP, Washington

This role works Monday through Thursday and will share the Front Desk Receptionist job with the current Receptionist, who will transition to work primarily on Fridays. Occasionally (perhaps up to once per month) this role will be scheduled to work Friday and will have a different day off that week.

Work hours are 8 am to 5 pm. Pay is $19/hour. This role does not include medical or dental benefits but paid vacation and sick time are included, as well as free veterinary services for your own pets.

Who You Are

  • You have at least one year of prior experience working at a front desk. You already know that you like this type of work. You could see yourself in this role for at least three years. Prior experience in a vet clinic is not required.
  • You live in the Methow Valley or Okanogan County and would have a reasonable daily commute to work in Twisp.
  • You love people and animals equally. You are friendly and curious with both.
  • When you interact with people and animals, you have a calming influence on them.
  • It's a plus if you know veterinary terminology and the basics of animal behavior and health.
  • You are a multi-tasker and can talk to people, handle calls and enter data at the same time. You work just fine with interruptions because you don't get flustered easily.
  • You are an on time person.
  • You're dependable and you plan your time off in advance, so that if you miss work, it's for an important reason.
  • You prefer to work in a team, rather than working alone.
  • You like technology and learning new tech is easy for you.
  • You have professional maturity and you are a clear and thoughtful communicator.
  • You have a strong sense of humor. (Working in a vet clinic is humorous!)

What You'll Do

  • Welcome clients and pets. You know that going to the vet can be stressful for people and pets alike. You make both feel like they are in good hands.
  • Answer and manage the phone. Be thorough, courteous and efficient on the phone.
  • Schedule appointments. Make calls to confirm appointments. Manage the schedule to make sure it's full and there aren't unexpected openings.
  • Update clients about pricing and scheduling processes.
  • Ensure client and pet records are always up to date. Be detail oriented.
  • Accept and post payments using our point of sale system.
  • Keep the front desk and front office organized.
