Aerospace Business Unit Rexnord Aerospace supplies high performance spherical and cylindrical bearings, mechanical seals,gearsand electrical components to commercial air transport markets. Brief Description Perform duties toset upandoperatea number ofdifferent computerized numerical controlled machine tools to perform a wide range of turning, drilling, milling,tappingoperations onprecision machined componentsina work-cell environment.Follow quality and safety rules and keepworkarea in a clean and orderly condition. Key Accountabilities Work fromprocess sheets, blueprints,setupsheets,setupcards, machine status boards, and verbal as well as written instructions. Machine and installor re-cutchuck jaws asrequired. Experience in running and setting up turning machines with live tooling and y-axis. Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets. Use hand toolsand manual machinesasneeded. Modifyor createexistingCNC programs for machinesas needed. Downloadand uploadprogramsintomachineand make programming adjustments as needed. Operatedifferent typesof computerized numerical controls to manufacture a finished machined product by performing a wide range of machining operationswithintight tolerances. Perform advanced troubleshooting and makeappropriate adjustments. Make adjustments to offset coordinates to compensate for materials, tooling or machine center conditions. Will berequiredto train less experienced machinists. Set upand verify preset gauges for proper calibration asrequired. Work withsupervisorandsupportteams to resolve problem situations as required. Inspectownwork for correct dimensions and ensure that company quality and quantity standards aremaintainedand complete required documentation.Will berequiredto inspect the work ofothermachinists. May berequiredtooperatemultiple machinesconcurrently. Rotate between various department work centers asrequiredandperform other related duties as assigned. Entersdata intoERPsystem.
