A distribution company is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure all products meet established quality standards and customer specifications through meticulous inspection, testing, and documentation.  Additionally, you play a critical role in preventing non-conforming products from reaching the customer and supporting continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.  This is a first shift position working 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on incoming finished goods using industry-appropriate methods and sampling plans
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, pin gauges, height gauges and comparators, to verify part measurements against defined tolerances and blueprints
  • Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Complete required documentation, logs, and reports accurately, including First Article Inspection Reports, PPAP, and non-conformance reports
  • Input data into quality databases or (ERP) systems
  • Identify and tag non-conforming products, ensuring they are segregated and processed according to Quality Management System procedures
  • Ensure all inspection and measurement equipment is maintained, operating correctly, and within the calibration schedule
  • Work closely with the production and engineering teams to communicate inspection findings, address quality issues, and recommend corrective actions and process adjustments
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures and support the overall QMS within the facility

Qualifications:

  • *Must have proven experience as Quality Inspector *
  • Must have knowledge of quality control and standards
  • Must have the ability to conduct visual and dimensional inspections using measuring tools
  • Must be able to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Must be able to complete all paperwork accurately and on time
  • Accurately enter data into quality databases or (ERP) systems
  • The ability to ensure all inspection and measurement equipment is maintained, operating correctly, and within the calibration schedule is needed
  • Must have an eye for detail while being safety-conscious
  • Must be able to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures and support the overall QMS within the facility
  • Must be a responsible, trustworthy, and punctual individual with a solid work history
