Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the facility. You will perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance, with the opportunity to train and grow your electrical skills while working on complex automated machinery and support systems.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all aspects of the production facility, including production machinery and supporting systems.

  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on industrial equipment, with training available on electrical tasks for candidates who are already strong mechanically.

  • Begin with preventative maintenance tasks to learn the equipment and processes, initially working on first shift for at least three months.

  • Maintain and repair a variety of machinery, including automated machinery, mill machines, compression machines, conveyors, industrial washers and dryers, mixer machines, injection mold machines, presses, dies, CNC machines, hydraulic presses, and vacuum pumps.

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore equipment to safe, reliable operation.

  • Complete work orders as scheduled, documenting work performed and parts used.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools.

  • Work with hydraulic pumps and related components, including proxy switches, on equipment that primarily operates using hydraulic systems.

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, logging and recording all preventative maintenance activities in the computerized system.

  • Support facilities maintenance and installations as needed, excluding painting, plumbing, and janitorial work.

  • Work with industrial electrical systems, including 240V, 277V, and 480V, as well as three-phase power and AC/DC circuits.

  • Utilize computer skills to interface with and support presses and Siemens PLCs, including older 525 programs, as part of troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

  • Contribute to the reliability and performance of presses and other production equipment through effective press maintenance and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with team members and share knowledge to improve troubleshooting, repair practices, and overall equipment reliability.

Essential Skills

  • At least 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.

  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including hydraulic pumps and hydraulic presses.

  • Comfort working around industrial electricity, including exposure to 240V, 277V, 480V, and three-phase power (electrical skills can be further trained for candidates with strong mechanical experience).

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical issues on industrial machinery.

  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on production equipment and documenting work in a maintenance system.

  • Basic computer skills for using maintenance software and interfacing with equipment such as presses and PLCs.

  • Ability to work with AC/DC electrical systems in an industrial setting.

  • Ownership of basic hand tools required for maintenance work, with specialty tools provided by the employer.

  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, and to perform a high volume of preventative maintenance tasks.

  • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Must have availability to train on 1st shift (7a-3p) for 2-3 months and work Saturdays as required

This is a Permanent position based out of TWINSBURG, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $68640.00/yr.
