Job Description Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus. Interpret RA and customer documentation(drawings, specifications,workorders, schematics, and others) Ability to download software ontoPLC(s) Verify wiring in physical cabinet compared to schematic requirements "power offpoint-to-pointcheck." Verify that all components installed are correct per customerrequirements. Verify that all labeling is correctly located and applied per customer requirements. Verify that the general organization and presentation of thewiring and assembly is astatically pleasing. Verify that voltage on drawings matchcomponent ratings. Select and connect facility test power lead(s)to assembled cabinets. Executehigh voltagepower checks with high voltage powered up. Execute low voltage power checks with high voltage powered up. Perform all key responsibilities of an engineering technician level 3. Aidall other techniciansas required based onworkloadand requested/assigned. Perform any in process quality checks as required. Assist in the training oflower-levelEngineering technicians. Ability to interpret electrical schematics is arequirement.Experiencein engineered toorder manufacturing is arequirement. High level oftroubleshooting capabilities when diagnosingcomplex electrical assemblies when not functioning as designed/specified. High School diploma or equivalent minimum Requiresacomprehensiveunderstanding of how to interpret customer and RA documentationand requirements and transform them into physicalproductas well as how to test finishedproductto verify that it is correct. Must be able to visualize physicalproductbasedoffsaid requirements. From this visualization anddocumentation,they must be able toidentify thatthe correct components, wiring, and labels were used.To accomplish these tasks the person must have good dexterity, hand-eye coordination, havebasicmath skills,organization, and attention to detail. Consistency anduniformityare critical to this role as there will be times when multiple of the same product will be produced and all need tobe consistenttothe customer. The person must possessahigh level ofunderstandinginthe function, risks,and theory ofelectricity. Demonstrate customer focus by understanding and incorporating customer and engineering requirements into work product.
