Quality Support Technician 3rd Shift Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Quality Support Technician in our Turners Falls, MA office. This person will be responsible for performing a wide range of inspection and quality functions, test and evaluation procedures on receipt of raw materials, in-process and final products to ensure that products meet customer, company, federal and the several special specification requirements for Judd products. Hiring Range: \$22.63-28.03 Non-Exempt + \$3 shift differential Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform a wide range of various inspections and quality functions pertaining to the products and materials passing through in-process inspection. Testing, analysis and data entry are to ensure that products meet customer, company, federal and the several special specification requirements for various Judd products. Work from the many work directives and instructions which include: SOP?s, shop packets, computer databases, ISO, QS, ASTM, Military, Customer, UL/CSA and Federal specifications. Use a variety of laboratory equipment and procedures to evaluate and determine various electrical, dimensional and functional qualities and capabilities. Equipment used includes but is not limited to; micrometers, bridges, meters, dielectric and high voltage testers, scrape abrasion, durability testers, Kocour, Instron, flame, oven, cold box, solderability, solder iron, and any other related applicable apparatus. Some testing is also performed using specified chemicals. Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely documentation of data and test results. Test results are to be properly calculated, assessed, evaluated and recorded in the required data medium. Must have the ability to make prudent decisions and offer solutions to resolve problems. This is to be done in a timely, well researched manner and to reflect awareness of impact to the product and the organization. Support and promote a positive, productive and professional work environment. Cooperate with and support external auditors, customers and supplier representatives and other departments within Judd Wire. Be able to coach associates with quality/product supporting information. The ability to effectively converse and listen to others concerning company matters. The use of proper written and grammatical skills and the meaningful application of computer technology (email, internet, etc.) Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, and unusual conditions/trends to Supervisor. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Maintain equipment and work areas in clean/ orderly condition. Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or instructed by Supervisor, including cross training in all areas of QA.
