Who will you be working with?
You will work for Annax, a Wabtec business unit specialized in passenger information systems for long and short distance trains, trams and subways.
There is a growing development team in Piossasco, dedicated to strengthening the portfolio of tram and commuter train projects collaborating closely with other teams in Switzerland and China.
Job Description
How will you make a difference?
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will cope with the complexity of a distributed embedded Linux system. You will be responsible for IP network configurations and protocols, databases, real time audio and video streaming, devices diagnostics and updates, compatibility to 3rd party devices and cyber security requirements.
What will your typical day look like?
· Configuration and implementation of features in the context of a project
· Define tasks and work packages
· Design module and framework extensions
· Develop, test and document your code
· Configure and integrate ANNAX software and Linux services
· Analyze issues and fix bugs
· Apply cyber security rules
· Live clean code principles
· Evaluate and elaborate new technologies
Qualifications
What do we want to know about you?
· Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar
· Professional knowledge of Linux, Embedded Linux, IP networks
· Other skills: C++, scripting languages (bash, python), Unit Testing, UML
· Documentation with doxygen, sphinx and plantuml
· Administration of code with git, gitlab
· Professional English
· Works well independently
· Excited about distributed systems and having fun with them
