Eaton Corporation Senior Sales Engineer in Tukwila, Washington
Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Senior Sales Engineer!
This is a Full Time role, working a Hybrid-Remote schedule (1 in office day per week) out of Eaton's Tukwila, WA facility. This role will cover the Seattle Metro area. A company car is provided!
This position will focus on power distribution solutions for the residential and commercial construction markets. Specifically, this position will be tasked with selling these solutions to electrical contractors in these markets that focus on new construction of single-family housing units, multifamily housing units, light commercial and mixed-use facilities, and medium to large commercial construction. These electrical contractors that require solutions from Eaton may focus on large scale construction projects for new healthcare buildings, water and wastewater facilities, government buildings and facilities, airports, data centers, and midrise and high-rise mixed-use buildings.

What you’ll do:
Sales & Account Ownership
Build, develop, and maintain relationships with key accounts including electrical contractors, channel partners, and strategic end user customers to drive sales growth and become a trusted advisor for assigned accounts
Develop and execute account plans using customer insights, data, and market knowledge.
Technical & Solution Selling
Interpret electrical plans and specifications to develop competitive proposals, including pricing, bills of material, and scope clarifications.
Partner with internal experts to deliver customer‑centric power distribution solutions.
Cross‑Functional & Project Support
Collaborate with product, operations, channel, pricing, inside sales, and project teams across the full order lifecycle.
Resolve technical, quality, and post‑order issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Market Awareness & Capability Development
Adapt sales strategies to changing market conditions, pricing, and delivery requirements.
Continuously build technical, commercial, and business expertise through ongoing learning.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Three (3)+ years of experience selling, engineering, or marketing complex engineering solutions in a technical or commercial field
Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now and in the future
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 75 miles of Tukwila, WA (98168) will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical limitation
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum three (3) years of electrical industry sales experience
Knowledge of Seattle area electrical contractors and electrical distributors.
Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment including load centers, group metering, and disconnects for residential construction projects.
Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment including switchboards, panelboards, automatic transformer switches, safety switches, dry type distribution transformers for commercial construction projects.
Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment including low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage switches, and medium voltage motor starting solutions used in large commercial construction and industrial projects.
Success Criteria:
Experience with preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectations
Knowledge of sales process and value-added sales techniques
Negotiation skills; experience in using negotiation techniques to close orders
General knowledge of Eaton Electrical product and service capabilities
Ability to put together a bill of material and pricing for electrical systems applications with varying complexity
Ability to build trust and relationships with various types of people
Ability to anticipate and be proactive on customer needs
Ability to learn and utilize digital tools and proprietary software
Robust presentation, training, and communications skills
General knowledge of key customers and channel access to key customer organizations within the Seattle sales territory

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $128,700 - $188,760
Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
