Robert Half FP&A Budget Support in Tukwila, Washington

Description We are looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to provide FP& A Budget Support on a contract basis in Tukwila, Washington. This role involves collaborating closely with leadership to evaluate financial performance, prepare budgets, and deliver actionable insights to guide decision-making. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing responsibilities independently after an initial onboarding period.

Responsibilities:

• Spend the first week onsite to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations, financial data, and team workflows.

• Independently manage assigned financial analysis and budgeting tasks with minimal supervision following the onboarding phase.

• Review the previous year's budget to analyze structure, spending patterns, and key financial areas.

• Collaborate with leadership to prepare and support the development of the current year's budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Conduct analysis of year-to-date financial results, comparing them to prior year performance to identify trends and variances.

• Break down revenue and cost center figures into detailed departmental or category budgets, ensuring clarity and precision.

• Use Excel to organize, input, and calculate budget data, maintaining accuracy and accessibility.

• Perform detailed audits of budget models and worksheets to verify calculations and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

• Identify discrepancies or unusual financial results and proactively address them before presenting to management.

• Present findings and recommendations clearly to leadership, facilitating informed decision-making. Requirements • Proven experience in financial analysis and modeling.

• Proficiency in Excel for budgeting and forecasting purposes.

• Strong skills in variance analysis and data mining techniques.

• Familiarity with developing annual operating budgets and forecasts.

• Ability to interpret financial trends and provide actionable insights.

• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Effective communication skills for presenting financial information to leadership.

• Capability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
