Join our Light Structures team within the Rigid Frame Truck Engineering organization and become a driving force behind the design and development of light structures for Productivity Class Large Mining Trucks.
As a Design Engineer, you will work on light structures engineering projects focusing on Large Mining Trucks. Your responsibilities will span coordinating cross-functional activities involving product development, value chain optimization, manufacturing processes, procurement, commercial, and product support. You will be accountable for managing project timelines, budgets, product quality, and ensuring the successful implementation of light structures solutions that address unique challenges within the mining industry.

What you will do:
Design and analyze light structures components for Large Mining Trucks.
Deliver on quality, velocity, and cost targets for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Resolve Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects with a sense of urgency to reduce customer pain.
Drive collaboration with product development groups, value chain, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, commercial, and product support.
Develop and document functional design requirements.
Provide support for design reviews and conformance to design guidelines and best practices.
Top Candidates Will have:
Rigid Frame Truck or mining industry application knowledge.
Previous experience designing fabrications.
Caterpillar component and systems knowledge.
Degree Requirement: Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.

Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Extensive experience with Creo, Vis View, and Teamcenter.
Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Additional information:
The primary work location for this role is Tucson, AZ with a requirement to work on-site full-time at a Caterpillar facility.
This position may require 10 % travel.
Domestic relocation assistance is not available.

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
