Americas Consulting Communications & Engagement Assistant Director – Communications Planning & Operations
The opportunity
Americas Consulting is evolving quickly, driven by AI, technology and new ways of working. As a Consulting Communications & Engagement Assistant Director – Communications Planning & Operations, you will lead the planning, coordination and operational discipline that keep our Consulting Communications team aligned, consistent and ready to deliver against key priorities.
Reporting to the Consulting Communications Leader, you will serve as the operational integrator for the Consulting Communications function, driving coordination, structured planning and process optimization across the team. You will help ensure communications initiatives are aligned, leader-ready and executed efficiently. Acting as a central coordination point across Consulting and Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC), you will oversee planning workflows, calendar management, reporting and operational enablement to support Consulting’s strategic communications priorities.
Your key responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
Support coordinated communications planning across the Consulting Communications team.
Maintain and manage the Consulting communications calendar, ensuring visibility and alignment across initiatives.
Partner with the Consulting Communications Leader and team to align priorities and sequence key deliverables.
Facilitate team meetings and planning cadences, tracking follow-ups and ensuring accountability.
Project & Portfolio Support
Monitor progress of priority initiatives and proactively flag risks or resource constraints.
Serve as first-level reviewer for key communications to ensure consistency, clarity and alignment before leadership review.
Support execution of special projects and leadership initiatives as needed.
Coordinate cross-functional communications efforts across service lines and BMC teams.
Process Optimization & Governance
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve intake processes and enhance team efficiency.
Support implementation of standardized tools, templates and tracking mechanisms.
Act as a subject matter resource on communications tools, protocols and processes.
Ensure communications channels, lists and assets are maintained accurately and effectively.
Analytics & Insights
Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track engagement, reach and sentiment metrics.
Synthesize data into actionable insights to inform campaign effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Support integration of employee listening and feedback into planning processes.
Provide regular reporting summaries to enhance leadership visibility.

Ideally, you’ll also have
7-8 years of experience in communications, business operations or a related field
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Strong project management and organizational skills
Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives in complex organizations
Familiarity with engagement analytics and reporting tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholders

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $99,300 to $185,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $119,100 to $210,900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
