Job Title: Stockroom Clerk
Job Description
The Stockroom Clerk plays a key role in packaging, material handling, and inventory control within a modern manufacturing facility. This position focuses on accurately processing, packaging, and shipping mechanical fixtures used for control panels, while maintaining organized inventory and supporting the production floor with timely material delivery.
Responsibilities
Pull material and deliver completed job kits to designated locations on the production floor.
Respond quickly and accurately to material requests from the production floor.
Label completed assemblies and accurately record their locations in the ERP system.
Process, package, and ship orders in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Organize stock and maintain inventory accuracy through proper storage and documentation.
Inspect products for defects and damage prior to packaging or shipping.
Package products and assemblies according to established standards, work instructions, or direction from supervision.
Accurately record received goods locations using a handheld PC or similar device.
Read and interpret packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping and receiving instructions.
Wrap and band pallets in preparation for shipment or storage.
Label incoming goods, unpack cartons when appropriate, and apply labels as required.
Verify counts and other relevant information against packing lists and other shipping documents.
Perform daily cycle counts to support accurate inventory control.
Replenish floor stock and Kanban bins as needed to support production.
Promptly report material shortages through the appropriate channels.
Use pallet jacks or forklifts to place and retrieve material from pallet racking safely.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support warehouse and production operations.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2+ years of packaging experience, preferably with large items or mechanical components.
Hands-on material handling experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or production environment.
Proficiency with inventory control practices, including cycle counting and stock replenishment.
Experience using pallet jacks and forklifts to move and store materials.
Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively during packaging and material handling tasks.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics as they relate to packaged assemblies.
Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a handheld PC and an ERP system for inventory transactions.
Ability to read and interpret packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping and receiving documentation.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate material transactions and inventory records.
Ability to regularly lift and move items up to 40–50 lbs as part of daily duties.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with production and warehouse team members.
Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
0–2 years of previous general labor or warehouse experience in addition to packaging experience is beneficial.
Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and documentation.
Experience working with Kanban systems and floor stock replenishment.
Comfort working with large mechanical fixtures and control panel components.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to workplace safety.

Work Environment
This role is based in a large warehouse, production, and manufacturing facility with individual workstations dedicated to packaging large mechanical fixtures and control panels. You will regularly use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, as well as handheld PCs and an ERP system for inventory tracking. The environment is active and hands-on, requiring frequent lifting and movement of materials. Work is performed indoors in a structured production setting with an emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TUALATIN, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
