Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, mechanical equipment, ovens, and facilities in an orderly, timely, and cost-effective manner. This role requires a solid understanding of production and packaging equipment operations, along with skills in repairs and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repair, and installation of all production and packaging equipment.

  • Maintain equipment productivity to minimize downtime or malfunctions, with some tasks requiring completion within rigid timeframes to maximize bakery productivity.

  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.

  • Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with company GMPs.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls, and preventative maintenance reports.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to maintenance, line stoppage calls, and emergency repairs.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical troubleshooting

  • Repair and preventative maintenance experience

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Experience with hand and power tools, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Good understanding of production and packaging equipment

  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment

  • Computer aptitude, with experience using CMMS software such as Limble

  • Ability to operate man-lift equipment (with proper training)

Work Environment

The day shift operates between 3am and 11pm, with schedules determined weekly. Employees may work up to 55+ hours per week, including some days with up to 11-hour shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
