Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Electrical Assemblers with a focus on fiber optic assembly. Candidates must have experience in a manufacturing or production environment and be comfortable handling small parts. Training will be provided for photonic cable assembly, but familiarity with wires and cables is essential. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established assembly instructions for fiber optic cables and products.

  • Maintain a minimum standard quota for job assignments in terms of time and piece count.

  • Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.

  • Gain an intermediate understanding of tool names and their uses.

  • Identify components and acquire entry-level product knowledge.

  • Measure using standard and metric measurements and utilize conversion tools.

  • Ensure tasks are performed accurately to deliver quality products.

  • Report irregularities related to goals, quality, or delays to production management.

  • Apply basic problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year of small part assembly experience, preferably with electrical or wiring.

  • Experience with hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers, rulers, and crimpers.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Capability to work flexible hours, including Fridays and Saturdays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Good manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Basic measurement skills using both standard and metric systems.

  • Basic English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to reason and analyze problems effectively.

  • ITAR compliance.

Work Environment

Work in a clean room environment manufacturing fiber optics for government and private clients. Employees will wear a basic gown similar to a lab coat. The work schedule is typically from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday, with frequent overtime available on Fridays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
