Key Responsibilities
Increase enrollment in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by connecting eligible individuals to benefits
Conduct outreach throughout the service area, including community events and partner locations
Prescreen individuals and households for SNAP eligibility
Assist applicants in completing and submitting SNAP applications
Provide direct support and guidance to consumers throughout the process
Build relationships with community members and partner organizations
Promote an environment of inclusion, respect, and belonging
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in a related field and at least 2 years of Human Services experience preferred
Knowledge of the local service area and available community resources
Strong interviewing, assessment, and engagement skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Comfortable with public speaking and community outreach
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Valid NYS driver’s license required
