Vigilant Technologies LLC has an opening for the position of OCI Architect Database Engineer (Ref# OCI210RD).
Work Location: Position may telecommute / work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
Job Duties: Responsible for designing comprehensive, end-to-end solution architecture for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) that aligns with client requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business objectives, technical needs, and constraints and provide expert guidance on OCI capabilities and best practices to achieve those goals. Lead technical design and implementation of OCI solutions, providing technical direction and support to technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. Assess existing on-premises or cloud-based infrastructure and applications and develop comprehensive migration strategies and execute plans to seamlessly transition them to OCI. Implement IaC (Infrastructure as Code) practices using Terraform to automate provisioning and management of OCI resources, ensuring consistency and efficiency. Ensure OCI solutions meet industry-standard security and compliance requirements. Continuously identify opportunities to optimize OCI solutions for performance, cost, and resource utilization. Leverage OCI services and features to achieve optimal results. Implement effective monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address performance issues and security threats. Responsible for Oracle database installation, patching, and upgrades. Install security patches, bug fixes, patches for new functionality, and work with development teams to fix issues related to customizations and functionality. Coordinate with Oracle support staff for issues/bugs and raise service requests for issue resolution. Review client environments for new product updates, security fixes, new features availability, and certification. Upgrade Oracle databases to the latest code levels and functionality. Perform Lift and Shift of client database implementations from on-premises to OCI. Responsible for Oracle Applications installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and cloning. Support Oracle Applications releases, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Install/deploy code changes or new applications to DEV, QA, and UAT environments. Analyze client backup and recovery requirements and business needs to keep production systems running. Advise best suited backup policy and implement the same to ensure client objectives. Use of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Java, SQL, Git, Jenkins, Oracle RAC, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database, Linux, and UNIX.
Requirements: This position requires a Master's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation including Oracle Database Administrator or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle RAC, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle Database. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
