Humana Senior Innovation Portfolio Strategy Professional in Trenton, New Jersey

Humana Healthy Horizons is looking for a Senior Innovation Portfolio Strategy Professional. Reporting to the Innovation and Portfolio Director, you will play a critical role in the evolution of Humana's solutions and in helping Humana support its well-being centered mission. You will support the oversight and management of the innovation portfolio and framework. This framework inspires the creation and commercialization of new products and solutions. You will also contribute to governance, portfolio reporting, market intelligence, and the tools and training that promote scalable development of prioritized solutions.

The Strategic Solutions team accelerates transformational programs that strengthen Humana Healthy Horizons’ value proposition. As a centrally positioned strategic function, we work with executive leadership to oversee an innovation portfolio focused on growth and long‑term impact for Medicaid members. We partner across the enterprise to shape strategy and advance high‑value initiatives, from ideation through launch. Our team delivers value through rigorous research, data‑driven insights, strategic planning, and thoughtful project management, promoting agile, customer‑centered best practices across the Medicaid segment.

Responsibilities include:

Portfolio Strategy & Management

  • Support the Strategic Solutions Director in the management and evolution of the Innovation Portfolio.

  • Assess and monitor portfolio balance against Medicaid growth objectives, thought‑leadership positioning, and meaningful member impact.

  • Identify and help mitigate portfolio-level risks, take corrective actions within scope, and escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Create and maintain resource plans and resource planning frameworks.

Research, Insights & Market Intelligence

  • Conduct market research and support market intelligence efforts to inform prioritization and identify emerging opportunities.

  • Apply quantitative and qualitative research and analytics to help define and prioritize solution requirements.

  • Support the definition, tracking, and reporting of success metrics across the product lifecycle.

Innovation Frameworks, Tools & Ways of Working

  • Maintain and evolve Innovation Framework technologies, tools, templates, and trainings to promote agile, human-centered, and customer‑centric approaches.

  • Support Innovation Leads through the design and development phases of the product lifecycle—including work that requires creating new approaches, frameworks, and processes from scratch.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery

  • Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration across strategy, design, engineering, clinical, and operations teams to ensure alignment with business needs and member experience goals.

  • Support project planning, execution, and delivery across multiple initiatives and workstreams.

Stakeholder Communication & Executive-Ready Materials

  • Develop leader-facing materials—including executive-ready presentations, written briefs, and visual storytelling artifacts—tailored to the communication needs of diverse internal and external audiences.

  • Support stakeholder communications and maintain strong relationships with leaders, cross-functional partners, and external vendors.

Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Health, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, solution development, or innovation with a focus on healthcare.

  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships, including executive and management audiences and external vendors.

  • Project management experience, working across matrixed teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience focused on Medicaid.

  • Managed care or payer partnerships.

  • Experience with human-centered design and agile product management methodologies.

  • Experience with User Experience (UX) research methods.

  • Project Management or Process Improvement certifications.

  • Experience working with Innovation Framework technologies.

  • Experience working with remote teams and foster a cohesive, creative work environment.

Additional Information :

  • Workstyle: Hybrid Office option if you live within commuting distance of our office locations in Tampa, FL or Louisville, KY, or Remote if you live outside of Tampa, FL and Louisville, KY

  • Travel for conferences and on-site team meetings

  • Core Work Days & Hours: Monday – Friday; Eastern Standard Time (EST) with flexible scheduling (i.e. – occasional nights and weekends)

Interview process:

As part of our hiring process, we utilize Hire Vue, a third-party interviewing technology, to support decision-making. If you advance beyond the application prescreen, you will be invited to participate in an SMS text interview, accessible via cell phone or computer. The interview consists of several questions and takes approximately 5–10 minutes. Your responses will be reviewed, and you will be notified regarding progression to subsequent interview rounds.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$94,900 - $130,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
