Maintenance Manager
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and continuously improving the site’s Maintenance Program and Maintenance Team. This role ensures the effective support of company objectives, operational goals, production requirements, budgets, and safety and quality standards.
The Maintenance Manager brings extensive hands‑on knowledge of modern production equipment, a strong understanding of reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance practices, and a commitment to driving maintenance excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.
This role requires a results‑driven leader who excels in a high‑speed, fast‑paced, and complex manufacturing environment, demonstrates strong problem‑solving capabilities, and effectively allocates resources to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Leadership & Reliability
Lead the site’s Maintenance Excellence initiatives to achieve optimal equipment reliability, uptime, and availability.
Oversee maintenance teams, programs, and processes to support consistent performance of plant equipment and systems.
Establish and maintain high standards of performance, accountability, and professionalism within the maintenance team.
Champion the effective use of the site’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Team Development & Management
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance personnel through formal training, hands‑on learning, teamwork exercises, and technical skill‑building activities.
Manage subordinate staff in the day‑to‑day execution of maintenance activities.
Foster a culture of safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Operations, Engineering & Project Support
Collaborate closely with Operations and Engineering to align maintenance activities with production needs and business priorities.
Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and support new equipment installation and commissioning.
Oversee facilities design, inspection, equipment repair, and installation activities.
Ensure projects and departmental initiatives are completed on time and within budget.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure maintenance activities are performed in alignment with all Safety, Quality, Environmental, Regulatory, and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures.
Promote and continuously improve a strong safety culture across the maintenance organization.
Systems, Inventory & Documentation
Monitor and manage maintenance inventory, including spare parts and specialized tooling.
Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance procedures and schedules for existing and future equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation and records to support compliance and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
5–7 years of relevant maintenance or engineering experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
3–5 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience
Technical & Professional Skills
Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability best practices
Proven leadership, coaching, and team‑building capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple strategic and tactical initiatives simultaneously
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented, with the ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and AutoCAD
Preferred Certifications
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM)
Or equivalent professional certification

This is a Permanent position based out of Tracy, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
