Overview
The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the leadership and daily operations of a highly automated distribution environment. This role requires a seasoned maintenance professional with strong subject‑matter expertise in maintenance operations, workplace safety, and data‑driven leadership. Experience with material handling equipment (MHE), packaging automation, distribution processes, and storage systems is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate is a self‑starter capable of managing multiple complex tasks, influencing cross‑functional teams, and building strong relationships at all levels of the organization. This role also plays a key part in the maintenance acceptance and commissioning phases of large‑scale, complex launch projects.
Work Environment & Requirements
Highly automated,
24/7 distribution center
Leads and supports teams of facilities technicians
Composite‑toed shoes required
All other PPE/tools provided
Must be open to flexible shifts/schedules (including weekends, nights, holidays)
Launch site role requires at least 3 weeks of travel

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
experience with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
Willingness to travel up to 50 miles between sites
Leadership or supervisory experience
Project management experience
Working knowledge of:
Electrical and electronic principles
Industrial electrical systems
Industrial controls
Preventive maintenance procedures
CMMS programs
Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
Key Responsibilities
Support multi‑site production operations in a safe, customer‑focused manner
Troubleshoot and develop solutions to complex technical issues
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs
Build strong partnerships with Operations to support uptime and productivity
Manage multiple daily activities and long-term projects simultaneously
Ensure compliance with all safety programs, standards, and procedures
Assist in developing and executing departmental business plans
Support budget development, tracking, and cost-analysis processes
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action up to termination
Mentor and motivate facilities associates to foster growth and high performance
Engage in project planning, commissioning support, and cost analysis
Promote strong housekeeping and safe work practices across all maintenance areas

This is a Permanent position based out of Tracy, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
