Overview

We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engine repair, equipment maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting. This role offers an excellent opportunity for technicians with dealership experience, service technician expertise, and a passion for machinery and vehicle repair. The position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Duties

1. Diagnose and repair small engines, including gasoline and diesel models
2. Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as generators, lawnmowers, and other power tools
3. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams
4. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for repairs
5. Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting on various machinery
6. Repair heavy equipment components with mechanical knowledge and precision
7. Perform vehicle maintenance tasks when applicable
8. Assist customers with technical questions and provide expert advice on equipment care
9. Conduct testing to ensure repairs meet quality standards
10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Skills

1. Dealership experience or service technician background preferred
2. Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, generators, and automotive systems
3. Proficiency with schematics, electrical systems, and diesel engine repair
4. Experience with equipment repair, welding, soldering, and heavy lifting required
5. Familiarity with some heavy-duty equipment is a plus
6. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
7. Customer service skills to assist clients professionally
8. Knowledge of maintenance procedures and repair techniques
9. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
10. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $28.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
