Wolters Kluwer Payroll Coordinator in Torrance, California

Basic Function- Role Summery

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 9,000 employees with a payroll value of $1.5B. This role supports the entire payroll lifecycle, including payroll processing, reporting, auditing, and compliance. The Payroll Coordinator will work closely with HR, Finance, and other internal partners to ensure compliance with company policies, U.S. federal and state tax laws, and payroll best practices. A key focus is leveraging ADP GlobalView to execute payroll processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process U.S. payroll on a bi-weekly basis using ADP GlobalView, ensuring accuracy and

  • timeliness.

  • Maintain and update payroll data by collecting, calculating, and entering information.

  • Review source documents, reconcile discrepancies, and resolve payroll errors.

  • Prepare, document, and disburse payroll checks, payroll taxes, and employee benefit payments.

  • Maintain general ledger payroll maps; assist Finance with reconciliations and journal entries.

  • Provide reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including earnings, deductions, and taxes.

  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to corporate governance and internal controls.

  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Partner with HR and Finance to support projects, system implementations, and process improvements.

  • Contribute to the development and documentation of payroll procedures and policies.

Other Duties

  • Perform other payroll-related duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 5-7years of U.S. payroll experience.

  • Strong hands-on experience with ADP GlobalView payroll processing.

  • Experience with payroll software implementations and integrations preferred.

  • Experience with report writing and payroll reporting tools a plus.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of payroll taxes, benefits, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables) and other M365 Office tools.

  • Familiarity with using Al tools to support reporting, analytics, or payroll process improvement a plus.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve payroll discrepancies.

  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and ethical conduct.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to partner across functions.

CORE COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Strong collaboration and customer service mindset.

Certifications:

CPP {Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC {Fundamental Payroll Certification) preferred.

Travel Requirement:

Minimal travel within the U.S.

Physical Demands

The Payroll Coordinator will primarily work at a computer, requiring extended periods of sitting, repetitive keystrokes, and screen time.

Compensation:

$57,100.00 - $97,500.00 USD

Compensation range listed is based on primary location of the position. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
